Maybe! I was sent this shirt by the owner of an online boutique in exchange for a few photos. No it's not Aubrey's birthday yet...she is only 21 months but this shirt is cute and will be used for her 2 year cake smash! And yes. This is my beautiful Goddaughter! Her and her mama came down from NY to visit the fam for a week. We had sooo much fun. I am really sad that they are gone and know it will be at least 10 months before I get to see them again. She's already grown so much since the last time I saw her in September 07!
Her mama ordered a 16x24 of this one!

I'm going to order a 12x12 of this one and turn it into a tile, I love it!

This was her last time I saw her, can you see why I feel like I am missing EVERYTHING? Waaaaaaaaaaaa

Yesterday I got together with some great photographer friends (we had a great time!)for some fun in G town. We were shooting each other on the fire escape when this darling couple and adorable children approached us and we started chatting:) Then we shot the kiddos for a couple minutes because they had never had professional portraits done; the kids were naturals and just gorgeous!

I wanted to play with my lighting again today, this time I used my AB 800 and a borrowed Softlighter umbrella from a friend. Bash got to be my model today, yes I had to bribe him. lol

So this is not the best portrait lol but it was spur of the moment. Daddy brought the kids home from swimming after my newborn session yesterday and my one and only boy wanted to do pictures with *his* cat. He scooped her (Chloe) up and plopped down in the bean bag. I already had the lights set up so I snapped a few, this one is my fave!

Yesterday we popped out to downtown Hutto to shoot some fun possible Christmas card pics...it didn't go very well as is usual with MY 3 kids lol. Aubs is still a touch sick though so I will give her a pass...the other 2 have no excuses except for being silly!

This one "may" be a contender for this years card...I still want to doa formal shoot all dressed up but today is too windy and cold!

I looooove this one. Aubrey heard the train coming got up and started running toward it shouting "wooo ooo" (a train whistle) She was too cute!

We went to the State Fair this weekend in Dallas, yes we are crazy and went during the Red River Rivalry game but it was the only weekend Dave could get off. The fair was INSANE, pure craziness I tell ya BUT we had a great time! I was so excited that they had a mini rodeo, I've wanted to see one since we've moved down here so when I saw it on the event list you better believe we were there! It was fun! The bulls were gigantic, Spiro, the white one with black specs was over 2,000 lbs!

So we had planned on going to the coast for Labor Day weekend..then Mr. Hurricane Gustav had 2 models taking it to Galveston so we cancelled our trip. I was so so so bummed...you don't even know lol, seriously in tears. I never cry so I was really so sad we were going to miss out again on heading down there. We woke up Saturday morning and saw all the models had the storm tracking up north to LA and north TX so we decided to find a hotel on North Padre Island. We totally do things on a whim all the time. I like life like that:)
It was our first time to see the Gulf of Mexico and we had a really fabulous time!

This family was so much fun too shoot! Dad was such a sweetheart and you can just see the love he has for his family in each shot! Mom is a lucky girl! Geuss what? They are having a baby boy too! All 3 of my gorgeous maternity models are having boys! Must be something in the water lol.

You would think as a photographer, I would have a million great photos of my kids...well I can safely say that I probably have a million photos of them but trying to get a picture of 3 kids, MY 3 kids is so HARD! I am sure other moms have the same issue with trying to get decent pics of their children and the feat becomes only more daunting the more children you add to the mix.

We popped out for a bit today, I wanted to get a nice picture of the 3 kids, that did not happen. There was crazy eyes, staring off in space, nose picking, crying, back arching, looking down, tongue sticking out, goofy smiles..you name it I am sure I have a photo of it! I just want one photo of MY kids, why is it so hard? These are the best of the bunch...that is so sad isn't it? *sigh*

Did you ever meet someone and just feel so comfortable with them? That is how I felt with this mom to be, we chatted and laughed like we had been friends forever, I really enjoyed her company! I am hoping we can get together on Friday evening for another short session, the sun was just too bright and too hot for the location I had hoped to go. Mama is having a baby girl in August, I wish her all the best and hope be able to photograph her sweet newborn.

Tomorrow is the big day! My baby girl turns one. It is sooo bittersweet. I have no idea where the past year went, it definately got away from me and that makes me sad. I mean I stay at home with her, shouldn't the time have dragged on? I've been with her everyday but I still fell like I've missed so much time. My Saturday session was this super lovable, handsome 6 month old. He was a dream, all smiles all the time. His big sister is 3 and is simply stunning she looks so much like my little sister when she was that age. I've had a busy week with several showings on the house so I'm getting these up a but later than I had wanted too (I need some house selling dust, so if you've got any, please send it over!) For Sale!!

It's official! The house is on the market, now hopefully someone will buy it:) It's really cute and clean, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, huge yard, game room, quiet subdivision, new hotwater tank as of last month....what else could ya ask for? I took all the pics and sent them over to the realtor and I will finish putting the flyer together this evening when she sends me the wording.

On our way home from the farm Saturday I spotted an old train station, I was so excited! There was also a no longer used Gulf storage station and some abandoned tracks. We didn't have long to shoot and the kids were tired and hungry but man if I could have shot there for an hour, I would have been in heaven!

Sweet Berry Farms!

Saturday we made the drive out west to Marble Falls. For some crazy reason we thought some manual labor would be fun....and it was! We had a great time picking strawberries, pulling onions and digging for potatoes! I've never pulled onions or dug potatoes before, it was actually really fun, it was also the kids first time strawberry picking.

The farm had some animals, horses, goats, donkeys and chickens...baby girl thought they were hysterical, she was laughing up a storm! This one family set there strawberry basket down to go pet the donkeys, well they set it a bit too close to the fence because the horse had a field day with those red luscious berries! I didn't have my camera with me while he was chowing down but I did catch the aftermath:)

We needed a new vehicle desperately! When baby girl outgrows her infant seat, we would never be able to go anyplace as a family as there is just no way to get 3 full size carseats across a back row. We've been looking and researching for awhile now and yesterday we found the car we decided to buy. We also spent 5 flipping hours at the dealership!!! I was not happy about that at all, the kids did pretty good though all things condsidered.

So now we have a 3 row vehicle that can fit our entire family!

April Portfolio building.

I am starting to build my portfolio and am booking sessions for Fridays and Saturdays in April. For the month of April will I offer no session fees. To take advantage of this offer a model release will need to be signed before the session begins.

What is a model release?
A model release is a legally binding agreement stating that the copyright is the exclusive right to of the photographer. A model release will state that you have given permission to the photographer to photograph you (and/or your children) and to use the photographs in any marketing materials, including the use of photographs on the internet. Names will never be used for any type of marketing.

What days can I book?
Currently I am only booking sessions on Fridays and Saturdays. These are the days my husband has off and he will watch the kids, so I know I will be available to focus on our session. I will update the blog when days are no longer available.

Where do you take photographs?
I have a small studio setup at my home but can also do an on location shoot if you have somewhere in mind. The location must be within 20 miles of Hutto.

When can I see my proofs?
Proofs will be available for your viewing via the internet within 2 weeks of your session (usually sooner but I am a mom first and things may come up). I will email you when your photos are available for viewing. Proofs will be a low resolution, watermarked copy, please note your 5 photos will be crisp and clear. You will have 5 days to let me know which 5 images you would like.

This bow was made by my friend Adrina (you can find her at http://www.myspace.com/quinnsbowtique ) I just love it! I love the colors and the size and the jewels, it is just way too cute! Baby girl wore it out today for the first time and got so many compliments. Of course when the camera came out she didn't want to have anything to do with it so this is pretty much just to plug Adrinas cute bows;)

First tooth, no make that teeth!

Finally at 10months and 1 day old, on Easter, baby girl got her first tooth!
Then this morning she woke up and had another tooh! 2 teeth in 24 hours. New teeth are not the easiest hings to photograph, especially on an irritable infant that just wants to get down and go. KWIM? But it's a milestone and her first tooth so a picture needed to be taken;)

It is gorgeous here today, not too hot yet that you can't be outside there is a slight breeze but not a cloud in the sky. I thought it was a great oppurtunity to get some shots of the baby in her first swimsuit. Isn't it adorable? I love it!

After her homework was done yesterday we went out to the garage to play, She has been giving me the weirdest eyes and smiles for a few months now when I try and practice with her. It drives me batty! So anyway the crazy eyes and smiles came again which means a very short shoot and only one photo for today.

Today David put together the flooring that was given to me by Angi as well as the Chestnut Savage Paper which I loove and is also from Angi (Thank You). I was so excited! I still need to get a baseboard to complete the look but I just had to play. Poor Aubs has been sick the last few days but she's getting a bit better: hopefully by the weekend she will be feeling perfect. She didn't want to smile, heck she didn't even want to try and scoot away which is her new favorite thing. I got some time to play and some cute shots in her sweet pea outfit that her Nana bought her.

So many people out there have blogs and have had them for awhile. I've never understood the whole blog thing but then again I'm not a big writer. I do however have a great passion for photography and have been perusing other photog's blogs for months now. There is so much talent out there it is simply overwhelming and when you are just starting out I must say it is intimidating! On the other hand...everyone had to start somewhere...they were'nt just born amazing photographers. They read everything they could possibly get their eyes on, they played with their camera and practiced on everything they could and little by little their talent and passion grew. I am following in their footsteps and taking in all the information I can so one day, I too can have a sucessful photography business. It's time to get serious, buckle down and get the ball rolling!
